3G PITCH UPDATE
The club are excited to be able to make the announcement that everyone has been waiting for, we are now in a position to start the works on the 3G.
As you will remember we were offered a grant by the Football Foundation of 77% to go towards the costs of the 3G in May 2016.
Since then we have been working hard to tidy up a land swap arrangement, and from the land swap update our lease. This process involved several companies and therefore several different company’s solicitors.
“It has been a frustrating period” remarked Oli Bliss, “but I would like to thank the Football Foundation for bearing with us during this time so that we could tidy these items and now move on to what everyone has been waiting for, a new 3G surface for all the Academy and Community to enjoy.”
Oli, Club Managing Director went on to add, “This has been a long journey for the Club dating back to 2011 when we first decided that a 3G surface would benefit both the Club and community. Although at times it looked like this would never happen, and I’m sure lots of you had thought the same, I am so happy to now be able to say that the project will be starting.”
A pre-site meeting has been scheduled in the next 2 weeks, with a start date to be in early January. The project has a target completion date of the end of March, subject to weather delays. There will be more information to follow with regards to availability for potential hire.
