BARTLETT’S BAPTISM OF FIRE – SEAGULLS V EBBSFLEET UTD

– Game Preview –

Weston-super-Mare AFC v Ebbsfleet United FC
Seagulls (18th) v The Fleet (4th)
Saturday 8th October, 3pm Kick Off

The match

A reinvigorated Weston side will be hoping that their fortunes can change with new manager Scott Bartlett in charge. With the last result being a 7-0 thrashing of Shepton Mallet in the Somerset Premier Cup, confidence will be growing and the players will be keen to impress the new man.

High spending Ebbsfleet United haven’t really got off to the start they would have wanted in the league, with them sitting just out of the playoffs, despite being title favourites. However, Ebbsfleet beat Havant & Waterlooville last time out 7-0 in the FA Cup with six different scorers so any player can pose a threat to the Seagulls

Ones to watch

Within the Ebbsfleet United team there are many recognisable faces to Weston-super-Mare fans, Charlie Sherringham, who at Dartford scored many goals against the Seagulls. Danny Kedwell who 10 years ago was scoring goals for fun while playing for Welling. Bradley Budd, when playing for Farnborough and Havant & Waterlooville was seemingly a constant thorn in the Seagulls side, also the towering presence of Nathan Ashmore also of Havant, and played against the Seagulls last season in this fixture
