BRISTOL CITY PROVIDE THE SEAGULLS WITH TWO LOAN SIGNINGS

Bristol City FC have agreed to the loan of two exciting players who can materially help the Club in the coming League campaign. Centre-back Aden Baldwin started his career under Scott Bartlett’s guidance at Forest Green Rovers, earning a professional contract due to his impressive displays in the youth setup. He moved on loan to Bath City at the beginning of the 2015-16 season, where he made 20 appearances, before moving to Bristol City for an undisclosed fee in January of last year. Baldwin joined Weston on loan last October, making his debut in a 5-1 defeat to East Thurrock United, and he made 26 starts for Weston, making three appearances off the bench and scoring two goals during his time at the club.

Ashley Harper is able to play down the right-hand side, and has been a part of Bristol City’s academy for many years, since his early teens, and has been coached under Wade Elliot, Jamie McAllister and Alex Ball. He joined the City first-team for their pre-season training camp in Portugal during the 2015 pre-season, playing in a 1-1 draw against Braga. Harper is yet to experience regular and competitive first-team football, so his move to Weston could be a huge step in his development.

Marc McGregor said of the signings, “I am delighted to have two youngsters who can help our drive forward in the coming season. Aden is well known to supporters and I know they will welcome him back, Ashley is new to the Club but again I am sure the supporters will welcome him into the club”
