CAN THE SEAGULLS BRING HAMPTON BACK DOWN TO EARTH?

-Game Preview

Weston-super-Mare vs Hampton & Richmond Borough Saturday 29th October Venue: Woodspring Stadium

The match

With fresh faces at the club, coupled with some experienced players, Head coach Scott Bartlett and assistant Chris Barker will be expecting a performance to build on last Saturday’s point away at Oxford City, their first point in the league since 16th August home at Poole. Experienced Seagull players such as Joe McClennan and Dayle Grubb have faced their fair share of critics so far this season, and will be out to prove a point whereas new Cardiff loanee Jamie Bird will be searching to put an end to the teams goal drought with the assistance of current strikers Brad Ash and Tom Meechan. And now with winger Jake Mawford, who played a vital role in Weston’s survival last season and their good start to the season, departing the club, players will be aiming to show Bartlett that they deserve this place in the Seagulls squad.

One To Watch

Jamal Lowe-The pacy 22 year-old striker is well known to the Seagulls supporters, as well as goalkeeper Luke Purnell and captain Clayton Fortune. Lowe started the 15/16 season at Hemel Hempstead, where he terrorised Weston’s back four during one of the early games. Lowe has most certainly been on fire this season for Hampton, netting 18 goals and getting 6 assists during the 22 games he has started. And Lowe’s form hasn’t gone un-noticed, with the striker having sealed a move to former FA Cup winners and League 2 side Portsmouth, which will be concluded in January.
