Weston-super-Mare AFC are disgusted and appalled to have learned that a member of our playing squad and a club official were the victims of racial abuse from a Torquay United supporter during our match on Monday.

Immediately following this incident several of our fans raised the matter to the stewarding team near them. This was followed at the conclusion of the match by Weston-super-Mare AFC club officials speaking with Torquay United stewards.

An interim email report was prepared and sent to Torquay United and the National League within 2 hours of the game finishing.

We can confirm we have now formally reported the incident to Torquay United, Devon and Cornwall Police, Avon and Somerset Police, The National League and Kick It Out.

Weston-super-Mare AFC finds any form of discriminatory behaviour totally abhorrent. As a club we have zero tolerance for any form of discrimination or racist abuse. There is no place for such behaviour in football, or society as a whole.

If anyone has any information about the incident, please email
