Weston-super-Mare AFC can announce that club captain and Weston legend Dayle Grubb has departed the club.

Dayle made his debut for the club in the 2008-2009 season. Aside from spending two-and-a-half years in the EFL with Forest Green Rovers and a short loan spell from FGR to Eastleigh, he has spent the entirety of his playing career with the Seagulls.

During his time with the club, Dayle has amassed 497 appearances and notched 149 goals, as well as assisting 161 goals for his team-mates.

Manager Scott Bartlett said:

Dayle has been a brilliant player for this football club which has also played a huge part in his career. I know everyone at Weston-super-Mare AFC is very proud of his journey which spans almost 500 games.

“He has been virtually ever present and of course has given us many great moments.

“Quite rightly he will get a fantastic amount of well wishes from our supporters, many of whom have been on the journey with him and us as a club.

“Dayle departs the club with our thanks and we wish him good luck for his next challenge.”

Everyone at Weston-super-Mare AFC would like to wish Dayle and his family all the best for the future. We sincerely thank Dayle for his major contributions in a Weston shirt across the years.
