Weston-super-Mare AFC are delighted to announce that central midfielder James Dodd has signed a permanent contract with the club following his departure from Exeter City.

Dodd spent the majority of the 2021-2022 season with the Seagulls on loan from the Grecians after joining in September, scoring one goal and assisting eight in 40 appearances.

Manager Scott Bartlett said:

We are delighted to have James with us full time.

“He was excellent for us last season and is a very mature player for someone his age.

“He is a terrific footballer and a great lad.”

On signing, James said:

I am delighted to sign permanently for the club.

“When deciding my next step, Weston was the best place for me to develop and continue progressing.

“I have a great relationship with the manager and all the lads so I am looking forward to getting started.”

We would like to welcome James back to Weston-super-Mare AFC and wish him all the best during his time with the club.
