ELIOT RICHARDS CLEARED FOR WEEKEND

The long drawn out quest to secure international clearance for Eliot has finally been achieved. The all clear came through from the USA authorities last night. Eliot is available for the squad at Welling Utd. Eliot was a product of the Rovers youth system and joined the professional ranks at the club in the summer of 2009. He broke into the first team in February 2010, when he came on as a substitute in a Football League One match against Gillingham. He scored his first goal of the 2011–12 season against Leyton Orient at Portman Road. His first hat-trick came against Burton Albion in a match Bristol Rovers won 7–1.

Eliot went on loan to Exeter City in February 2014. In May 2014, he signed a 2 year deal with Tranmere Rovers under manager Rob Edwards – an ex Bristol City legend. Eliot scored his first Tranmere goal on 23 August against Cheltenham Town.

He then signed an 18-month deal with Cheltenham Town on 2 February 2015 where he rejoined Rob Edwards, who had recently been appointed as Cheltenham assistant manager.
Eliot was called up to the Wales national under-19 football team in April 2010.
