FA POLICIES ON SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN AND COMMENTS ON SOCIAL MEDIA

New guidelines on how to ensure children under 18 and in our care for training and development should be managed have recently been issued to the club. This means that anyone with a specific task in football who comes into contact with children must have current CRC checks and be aware of the safeguarding policy.

Weston-super-Mare AFC are compliant in all respects.

In terms of responsibility for social media sites, the situation is also crystal clear. The Club has a duty to ensure that all comments, including, but not limited to, its official website, Facebook page and Twitter accounts do not contain any comments that are, or maybe conceived as – improper, bringing the game into disrepute, discriminatory, racist, are threatening, abusive indecent or insulting. The Club will remove any material that it considers falls into those categories.

Should the FA find any of the material on our social media platforms in any of the above categories they will charge us and not the contributor with improper conduct. Please see this does not happen.
