Harrow Borough v Weston super Mare

Harrow Borough 1 - 0 Weston super Mare
11 Sep 2021 - 15:00Earlsmead Stadium

Kunle Otudeko scored a 91st minute winner as Harrow came out on top against Weston with a 1-0 win.

Nick McCootie had the first opportunity of the game, just putting a shot past the post from Jordan Bastin’s low cross. Lloyd Humphries was next to try his luck, but fired over the crossbar from 30 yards. James Ewington was the first to go close for Harrow, but his strike from 20 yards bounced off Luke Purnell’s post and Weston were able to clear the danger.

A minute after that Ewington chance, McCootie again had an opportunity after racing onto a Keiran Thomas through ball but he fired wide at the near post from an angle. Lucas Vowles next had an opportunity but drove over from 18 yards when a flowing move led to Thomas pulling the ball back to him.

The final chance came to Weston eight minutes from the interval, a corner dropping to Humphries 18 yards out but his first-time strike was tipped over by Harrow keeper Josh Strizovic.

Bastin had the first chance of the second half when Humphries’ pass in behind allowed the winger to run into the box with the ball. He feinted onto his left but his shot on the stretch was deflected wide for a corner. McCootie just couldn’t divert a Jay Murray cross in on the stretch, with Jacob Jagger-Cane getting a toe to a Ewington shot on the counter attack down the other end.

Purnell’s long goal kick put Grubb in behind, but his 1-on-1 was stopped by Strizovic as he made himself big. Substitute Mike Symons came on to cause a nuisance of himself, his knock-down from a Purnell kick falling to Ben Griffith. The fellow substitute cut onto his right but drove wide from 18 yards.

The crucial goal came in the 91st minute, a scramble at the Weston end falling to a Harrow substitute. His shot was well kept out by Purnell, but the rebound was driven back across for Otudeko to poke in from six yards and seal all three points.
