Weston dominated possession at Hartley Wintney but were unable to find a way through the home defence in a 0-0 draw.
Reuben Reid had an early attempt seven minutes in when he was allowed to turn 25 yards out, but his low attempt was held by Marcin Brozozowski. Elis Watts then fired wide of the near post from the edge of the area after looking to cut inside from the right, before Reid struck the bar with a deflected effort that was tipped onto the woodwork by the keeper after receiving the ball following a cleared Weston corner. Captain Lloyd Humphries then saw a dipping 30-yard free-kick tipped round the post in the final action of the first half.
In the second half, Reid headed a Keiran Thomas cross wide of the near post before Hartley were awarded an indirect free-kick inside the penalty area following an alleged pass-back to Luke Purnell. Anis Nuur laid it off to Josh Webb six yards out, but a heroic block from a Weston defender on the line cleared the ball away. A Weston corner was almost converted by a flurry of bodies inside the area, with the ball being scrambled off the line twice.
Reid then went close again when he was slipped in behind by Humphries, but his toe-poked one-on-one effort was kept out by the foot of Brozozowski. Purnell was called into action to push away a low Adam Laaref strike before getting up sharply to block the rebound from Adolabi Soyemi-Ololade, while down the other end Thomas volleyed over after a Jordan Bastin corner dropped his way.
As Weston continued in search of the opener, a chance saw the returning Dayle Grubb get the ball 25 yards from the opposition goal, his powerful effort skimming the post and going behind for a goal-kick. With the final kick of the game, a Grubb free-kick into the box was headed over by Sam Avery at the back post after the ball evaded the rest of the bodies in the box.
