Goals from Reuben Reid, Will Tunnicliff, Elis Watts and Dayle Grubb ensured that the Seagulls defeated Plymouth Parkway 4-1 away from home.
Lloyd Humphries headed a Dayle Grubb free-kick over the bar, before the skipper curled wide of the target from outside the area after James Dodd had won the ball.
The Seagulls were the first to take the lead when Grubb rolled a pass toward Reid with his back to goal in the area. Turning his man smartly, the seasoned striker fired a first-time shot across the keeper Kyle Moore and into the bottom corner for 1-0.
Max Harris was called into action for the first time when former Weston player Ben Seymour found a yard of space inside the area and drew a save from the Weston No.1 at his near post.
The visitors were to draw level midway inside the half when a corner delivery from the left-hand side found Callum Rose at the back post, who rose above his marker and nodded a downward header beyond Harris for 1-1.
The hosts started to try and assert some dominance on proceedings when Seymour was denied by Harris in a one-on-one situation, with Rio Garside’s low follow-up striking the post. Callum Hall then latched onto a long ball and saw his shot stopped by the legs of Harris.
Weston were to retake the lead just before the interval though when a long ball found Reid running in behind. He played a one-two with strike partner Ben Griffith before the No.19 found Tunnicliff on the left side of the area. Running onto the ball first time, he struck a sweet strike with the instep of his boot into the far top corner.
After the break, Bastin cut inside and forced a low save from Moore at his near post after setting his sights for goal.
The game hit a slight lull before substitute Watts brought it back to life again. Getting the ball from Grubb on the right-hand side, he drove inside past three men and struck a low shot toward Moore’s near post from the edge of the area to give the Seagulls a two-goal advantage.
A fourth goal should have followed for the Seagulls when Reid beat his man inside the box and forced a save from Moore. The ball dropped kindly for Watts six yards out, but with an open goal in front of him, he could only strike the crossbar from point-blank range.
A minute later though, the fourth would come when Bastin was brought down inside the area as he attempted to shoot. Skipper Grubb stepped up for the penalty kick, and sent Moore the wrong way from 12 yards for his seventh goal of the campaign to wrap up a convincing win.
