Seagulls Dominant But Lose To Stones
In a game that saw Weston dominate and have the better chances, they somehow managed to concede against the run of play to seal a 5th successive defeat for Ryan Northmore’s squad.
Weston started well with the early pressure, zipping the ball around on the deck and denying the hosts getting a foot in the game. The first chance for Weston came midway inside the first half when Ollie Barnes met a Kane Ingram header at the far post, which Joe McClennan volleyed into the six-yard box first time, which saw Tom Meechan get his head on the ball but sent it over from 3 yards out.
Joe McClennan and Eliot Richards had some half-chances smartly saved by the Wealdstone keeper, Jonathon North, before the break.
In the second half, Weston continued to sit deeper and deeper but had the odd counter. However, Wealdstone took the lead just after the hour mark.
Matt Whichelow drove forward from midfield, with the Weston backline back-pedalling to try and halt the run. Whichelow fed OJ Koroma in down the left, with Eliot Benyon tapping in from close range to seal Weston’s fifth defeat in a row.
