Weston’s Emirates FA Cup journey came to an end against National League side Maidenhead United by a 3-0 scoreline.

Tobi Sho-Silva had the game’s first chance when meeting a Sam Beckwith cross from the left at the back post, whose downward header was caught by Harry Lee in the Weston net. Rex Mannings then intervened to head a Sho-Silva header from Bradley Keetch’s corner off of the line, before Harry Parsons wriggled away from Sam Avery 18 yards out and saw his low shot straight at Lee.

The higher-level visitors were to break the deadlock when Keetch floated a corner into the box, and Sho-Silva rose six yards out to meet the delivery with a downward header which bounced underneath the dive of Lee to make it 1-0.

Maidenhead doubled their lead when a long kick forward from Craig Ross released first-half substitute David Omilabu down the left, and his cut-back found Sho-Silva unmarked inside the area who slotted home into the corner for his second of the game.

Mannings had the first shot of the second half when being found on the right side of the box, and his low shot on the right foot was gathered by Craig Ross. Lee was then equal to a Reece Smith shot from 25 yards, before a Casey Petit shot was wide from a similar distance.

Lee then palmed away a shot from range by Maidenhead right-back Nico Asare, before Omilabu fired wide on the counter and Smith had a strike from 18 yards pushed away by Lee in the Weston sticks.

Substitute Opi Edwards went close when playing a one-two with Mannings down the right and driving into the box, with Ross stopping his effort. The ball trickled towards the goal, and an indirect free-kick was given for obstruction in Weston’s favour inside the box which Humphries’ effort was blocked by the Maidenhead wall. A few moments later, Mannings went close from six yards when heading Jacob Jagger Cane’s cross wide.

Keiran Thomas had a cross-shot go narrowly wide of the post as Weston players closed in on the ball at the far post.

Sho-Silva was to grab the match ball just inside second-half injury time, when Smith escaped the Weston defence to bare down on goal but his low shot was pushed away by Lee. The ball fell kindly for Sho-Silva on the volley, who finished into an empty net first-time.
