Weston fell to their first defeat of the season at The Optima against Slough Town by a scoreline of 3-0.
Slough took the lead just four minutes in when player-manager Scott Davies won the ball midway inside the Slough half and drove into the Weston box, his poke across goal hitting the leg of George Alexander six yards out and rolling in past Harry Lee for the opener.
Weston looked for an immediate response when Dayle Grubb found Jason Pope on the left, who sat his man down when cutting inside and seeing his near-post effort pushed aside by Hubert Graczyk for a corner. Nathan Minhas also had a header from a corner caught by the Weston keeper.
The visitors were to double their lead midway inside the half when Davies won the ball in his own half and played a wonderful pass over the top for Alexander to race onto, whose dink from 18 yards beat the onrushing Lee and bounced over the line for 2-0.
Rex Mannings had a 25-yard shot pushed away by Graczyk for a corner after receiving a knock-down from Marlon Jackson, before Grubb curled over the bar seven minutes later after working a short corner routine.
The visitors were to make it three not long before the break when Nathan Minhas brought the ball under control and run beyond Sam Avery for pace, the defender managing to keep pace with the speedy forward all the way. Minhas got the wrong side of the centre-back and was fouled in a tangle of legs, the referee pointing to the spot and showing Avery a red card. Alexander stepped up to the spot, and fired beyond Lee with a confident penalty for his hat-trick.
Nathan Minhas had the first opportunity of the second half when a Tom McElroy shot from 20 yards was deflected into his path, the former Beaconsfield striker steering his shot wide of the post. Jackson had a chance when latching onto a Mannings cross, but he put his first-time shot wide of the near post. Slough captain Josh Jackman had a 20-yard shot clear the bar, before McElroy had a shot from a similar angle tipped over by Lee following a Davies lay-off.
A low 25-yard shot from Grubb after bringing down a Jacob Jagger Cane pass flashed narrowly past the far post, while down the other end in the final action of the game, Alexander volleyed over a cross from Rebels substitute Johnny Goddard.
