A wonder strike from captain Greg Tindle secured the Seagulls all three points in a 1-0 win over Walton Casuals at The Optima Stadium.
Isaac Pearce had a shot straight at Denezel Gerrar from 18 yards after Mike Symons laid the ball back to him, before James Waite fired wide from the edge of the area after Symons had touched the ball back to him.
Chris Knowles glanced a header wide at the front post from Pearce’s corner, before Sam Avery had a shot deflected wide from 25 yards after breaking forward from defence.
The Seagulls got the crucial goal in the game when Greg Tindle recieved the ball 25 yards from goal and he had an outstanding effort from outside the area, firing in from long-range for his second goal of the season.
Waite fired over from the edge of the area after Pearce had kept the ball in play and played it inside, before Tyrone Lewthwaite had a shot straight at Luke Purnell on the counter.
In the second half, Waite had a guilt-edged opportunity go over after Symons had skinned his man down the left and pulled the ball back to him. Symons fired over from 12 yards following Dan Martin’s low cross, before Waite hit the post with a free-kick from 20 yards.
Symons saw a looping header from Parsons’ cross drop wide of the target, and Sam Avery went close from six yards as he headed Martin’s clipped cross just wide. Waite then went close as he beat five Walton players to drive into the box, but dragged wide of the far post.
Lewthwaite then had one last chance for Walton as his effort from long range was held by Purnell.
Walton continued to throw the kitchen sink at the Seagulls, but they stood strong to keep the ball out their goal and chalk up a much-needed three points.
