First-half goals from Lloyd Humphries and Marlon Jackson saw Weston past Yate Town with a 2-0 win on the road.
Yate’s captain Joe Tumelty was the first to have an effort at goal when he fired over from 25 yards after picking up a loose ball.
Welshman Humphries was to bag his first goal of the campaign, when Yate failed to deal with a corner properly at the other end of the pitch. James Dodd worked a pass into Reuben Reid, who layed it off to the centre-back outside the box. 25 yards out, Lloyd took a touch and curled an excellent shot over Martin Horsell and into the net for 1-0.
Max Harris was then forced into action midway through the first half, pushing away a 25-yard free-kick from Tumelty after Sam Avery had brought down Zach Drew.
The Seagulls were to double their advantage however when Jordan Bastin delivered a free-kick from out wide on his left foot, finding Jackson completely unmarked six yards out who had the simple task of nodding his effort past Horsell for his eighth goal of the campaign.
Grubb fired over from 25 yards after cutting inside from the left, before Jacob Jagger-Cane had an effort beaten away by Horsell from a Reid pass just inside the Yate area.
In the second half, half-time substitute Scott Laird struck the outside of the post after being fed through thanks to a great pass from Dodd, before Jagger-Cane volleyed over the crossbar from 25 yards after a loose ball fell to him. Horsell was then called into action by tipping a curling Laird free-kick round the post.
Substitute Ben Griffith then fired over the bar from 18 yards after turning on a Grubb pass, the youngster then having another attempt as the clock ticked into 90 when he put a low Elis Watts cross just wide of the post. With the final kick of the game, Jagger-Cane curled wide of the far post from an angle after Reid had layed the ball back to him.
