JACOB RODDY ARRIVES ON LOAN

Weston-super-Mare AFC are delighted to announce that left-back Jacob Roddy joins on a month’s loan from Charlton Athletic.

Standing at 6’1″, the powerful defender has gained experience within the Academy systems of both Southampton and current side Charlton.

On signing Jacob, Manager Scott Bartlett said:

I have known Jacob for a long time and am delighted he is with us.

“Similar to Luke Pearce, we have targeted Jacob for a while now and it’s a good time for us to bring them in, it’ll freshen the squad and add competition as we enter a busy period”.

Jacob will be available for selection this Saturday as Weston host Maidenhead United in the Emirates FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round.

About Jacob

Jacob joined Southampton as a 10-year-old and was with the club up until the age of 16 before departing the Saints.

He went on to study at Bradfield College for the next two years as a sports scholar, captaining the Bradfield College football team along the way.

In 2021, the youngster was signed by Charlton Athletic following a successful trial, joining their under-21 team. Since his arrival at the Addicks, he has made four appearances for the first-team and been an unused substitute once.

We would like to welcome Jacob to the club and wish him all the best when pulling on the Weston shirt.
