Jake Mawford will make his league match managerial debut tonight in charge of the Weston U18’s side when they take on Radstock U18’s away from home.

After outstanding performances in the last two games, a friendly against Plymouth (4-0) and an FA Youth Cup triumph against Clevedon (4-2), expectations will have been raised further in what can be seen as the start of a highly anticipated season for the brand-new look ‘Young Seagulls’.

With in-form striker Sol Wanjau-Smith one of the remaining players from last year’s disappointing season, the 17 year-old will be determined to add to his goal tally after bagging 3 in the last two games.

U18s squad this season:

Goalkeepers: Liam Kington, George Stiles.

Defenders: Tom Frampton, Andrew Head, Jack Goodall, Aiden Jones, George Morris-Edwards (C), Harry Manley, Zak Johnson.

Midfielders: Cameron Sandford, Elliot Shipway, Jacob Mead, Josh Antat, Lucas Finnegan, Mitch Probert, Angus Mason.

Wingers: Dean Chrisostomou, Kofi Martin, Elliot Nicholson, Jordan Palmer, Lewis McLean.

Striker: Sol Wanjau-Smith.
