JON HAILE MEETS THE COACHES

Hot on the heels of his appointment Jon has met with his coaches in both the foundation and youth phases.

His message was simple but forceful –‘we will strive to achieve consistency across the age groups with the way our teams play, how our coaches, players and parents behave and interact with each other.

He is intent on creating a whole Academy training philosophy through all ages from U7 to U18. He wants the coaches to manage their age groups and embrace and support each other. There is a clear philosophy of group responsibility for coaching, scouting and playing.

The meeting also covered the logistical aspects of the academy by giving the coaches the opportunity to present their proposed pre-season training schedules and friendly matches, as well as details about the new training and playing kit for the Academy.

It was clear that Jon will mentor and support the coaches and players throughout the season with his attendance at matches and with regular one to one and group coaches meetings. The emphasis was very much on creating a culture of togetherness and inclusiveness whilst providing opportunities for players and coaches to develop themselves as players and people.

At the conclusion of the meeting it was evident that the coaches enthusiastically embraced the path that Jon wants to follow.
