LLEWELLYN LEAVES ON LOAN

17 year-old Tom Llewellyn has left the Seagulls on an initial month loan to Southern League West side Mangotsfield United, to help aid his development by playing regular first team football.

Llewellyn is still eligible for the Seagulls U18s for this coming season despite having played within the U18 setup for the past two seasons, finishing last season as the U18 top scorer in the league, and has been on the fringes of Marc McGregor’s first-team squad for the past six months. Llewellyn made six appearances last campaign for the Seagulls first-team, and scored on his league debut against Dartford as well as proving to be an inspired substitute in the Somerset Cup final against Paulton Rovers. Last season, Llewellyn also gained some first team experience at Western League Bridgwater Town, making five appearances off the bench and netting two goals.

At Mangotsfield, Llewellyn will link up with former Seagulls Lewis Powell, Jordan Williams and Sekani Simpson, who all played at the Woodspring Stadium under Ryan Northmore. Attacking midfielder Llewellyn will be available for Mangotsfield’s opening league game of the season at home to Winchester City this Saturday.

On his loan spell, Tom Llewellyn commented:

I think going out on loan to Mangotsfield will be a massive experience for me. Hopefully I can really impress in the Southern League and can help Mangotsfield do well in the league and cups.  I am aiming to fully learn everything about men’s football to then make sure I’m ready to go straight into the Weston first team when I return back from this spell.

We would like to wish Tom all the best during his loan spell, and hope that it’s a productive one for him during his time there at Cossham Street.
