LUCAS LANDS BACK AT THE WOODSPRING
Weston-super-Mare A.F.C are delighted to announce the signing of striker Jamie Lucas on a permanent 1-year deal with the club.
Jamie has spent time with Weston previously through 2 separate loan spells, amassing 12 goals in 21 games for the Seagulls at the age of just 19, becoming a firm fan-favourite amongst the Woodspring faithful. Lucas’ most prolific period for Weston came in February 2015 when he won ‘National League South Player of the Month’ after scoring a hat-trick in a 3-4 win over Bishop Stortford.
Outside of his spells with Weston, the striker has played for Gloucester City, Boreham Wood, Woking F.C, Bath City and F.A Trophy finalists Brackley Town. He has also made 4 appearances for Bristol Rovers, most notably coming off the bench in the 2-1 loss to Rochdale which led to their relegation from the Football League.
Commenting on the forward’s permanent move to Weston, first team Manager Marc McGregor said
“We have worked hard to obtain Jamie’s signature on a contract as a number of clubs were very interested in signing him. He was at Bath City for last season and we kept a very close eye on his progress. This is a major signing for us and Jamie will link up with Gethyn to provide a formidable partnership. We’ll need more goals next season and Jamie fits the bill brilliantly.”
