Left-back Dan Martin has returned to Cardiff City, with the youngster expected to join a National League South side on loan later today.
During his time at Weston, Dan made 26 appearances.
Manager Scott Bartlett said:
Dan has been good for us and we are sorry to see him go but that’s football and we will plan accordingly.
Players only have one career and have to make tough choices at times, and although I think Dan should have only left us for a club at least two divisions higher, he goes with our blessing and thanks for the effort he put in while with us.
Of course, we have options and a ready made replacement in Lairdy but we are actively looking to bulk our squad out for the run in.
I’d like to personally wish Dan all the very best and hope he fulfills his potential and has a long career in professional football.
I’d like to thank the gaffer, the club and the fans for their incredible faith and support they’ve shown in me this season during my first loan.
It’s been a big learning experience for me and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every minute of being a Seagull.
I have no doubt the boys and club will kick on and have a successful rest of the season.
Everyone at the club would like to thank Dan for his efforts this season and wish him all the best for the future.
