MESSAGE FROM WESTON-SUPER-MARE AFC CHAIRMAN, PAUL BLISS: TONY BASS

“I was very saddened to learn of the passing of Tony Bass, affectionately known as ‘Timmy Bass’.

“I grew up in the same road as Timmy, who was a little older than myself, but I always felt very close to him. Timmy was a gentleman who I had great respect for as an elder stateman to who I looked up to during my childhood.

“He was also a great footballer, who represented his hometown club, Weston-super-Mare AFC in the 50’s & 60’s, and who went on to have trials at West Brom and Southampton.

“He will always be remembered by myself.
