MORRIS-EDWARDS HEADS OUT ON LOAN

Young centre-back George Morris-Edwards has joined Southern League South Division One South side Melksham Town on a month-long loan.

Earlier on in the campaign, the former U18 captain made four appearances on loan at Melksham’s divisional rivals Street. The former Taunton Town youngster has made 11 first-team appearances for the Seagulls since joining the club as a part of Jake Mawford’s U18 side in 2016.

Recent results have seen Melksham fall away from the Playoff picture, having lost their last three in the league (scoring none and conceding nine in that period), but remain ninth in the league and are seven points off Evesham United in the Playoffs, with games in hand on some of the teams above them.

George’s loan deal at Melksham will see his new side face AFC Totton, Paulton Rovers, Bristol Manor Farm, Moneyfields and Bideford.

On his loan move, the 20 year-old said “I can’t wait to get started with Melksham and get some regular game time under my belt. Hopefully, I can bring something extra to the team to help them climb up the table”.

We wish George all the best during his time at Melksham.
