20 year-old central defender George Morris-Edwards has joined Western League Premier Division side Shepton Mallet on loan until the end of the season.

Having captained the U18s to league success in the 2016-2017 season, the youngster became a part of the first-team squad at the Woodspring, while making 48 appearances for Shepton Mallet across 2016-2017 and 2017-2018.

This season, the centre-back has made two appearances for Weston, both coming in August as substitute appearances, and made four appearances for Street and an additional one game for Melksham Town in the Southern League.

Shepton Mallet are currently 9th in the Western League Premier, having obtained 38 points from 26 games played so far.

After going out on loan, George said “I’m excited to join Shepton on loan again. I know it’s somewhere I can get minutes and enjoy my football, which is what I’m looking for right now”.

We wish George all the best during his stint with Shepton Mallet.
