Weston-super-Mare AFC are delighted to announce that midfielder Ollie Chamberlain has signed for the club, arriving from Taunton Town.

Ollie has been a mainstay within the Peacocks midfield across the last nine years, playing a huge part in their success which has included two promotions, two FA Cup First Round appearances, and two years in the National League South.

Describing himself as a “high intensity” player, Ollie is capable of featuring in midfield as a box-to-box midfielder, in the No.10 role as an attacking midfielder, on the wing or even as a right wing-back.

On securing Ollie’s signature, Manager Scott Bartlett said:

Ollie is a brilliant signing and will be a fans favourite.

“He has been a top performer for years and again this season in tough circumstances, understandably had a lot of options and we are delighted he has chosen us as the best place for him.

“Ollie is versatile which is important to us, he has an eye for a goal and is very industrious. We think his energy, consistency and directness will add to our team.

“We explored getting him during January but he wouldn’t leave his club during the season and I admire that, he will be a real asset to us and is a top, top signing”.

Ollie said:

I can’t wait to get started here at Weston.

It’s a team I know well and seeing their progression over the last few seasons, it’s clear to see that they’re a club on the up.

“The facilities are great as well as the fans and I’m excited to be a part of that, and help the team kick on again.

“I look forward to seeing you all”.
