PETE TREGO AND ED BLISS TAKE UP NEW ROLES WITH THE SEAGULLS
Weston-super-Mare AFC are delighted to announce the appointments of Ed Bliss and Pete Trego as Co-Heads of Match Day Operations and Commercial Partnerships.
Ed Bliss will also be joining the Board of Directors at the Club.
Ed and Pete will oversee Match Day Operations at The Optima Stadium, working with newly appointed Stadium Match Day Operations Manager Nathan Brown.
They will also spearhead the Club’s commercial activity.
Commenting on ‘re-signing’ for the Seagulls, Pete said:
I played for the Weston-super-Mare AFC in the late 90s early 2000s in two spells in between my first-class cricket seasons with Somerset CCC.
I absolutely loved my time playing at Woodspring Park back in the day. It was nowhere near as fantastic a ground as the players enjoy today, but was still great to represent the town at such a young age.
“I’ve recently retired from cricket after a 23-year career at the top level, but my passion for south-west sport will never retire.
“I’m very grateful to now work with the Club making as good a match day experience as possible for all supporters home and away.
“Now I’ve signed for the Club for both under BIiss senior and junior! I am looking forward to watching the Club back in the league they should be in.”
When asked about his appointment, Ed Bliss said:
It’s a privilege to take on this role. I’m very excited to take on this new challenge and I’m looking forward to working with Pete and seeing what we can accomplish for the Club.
“The Club is part of our family. I’m very proud of what my Dad (Paul Bliss, Chairman) has done for the Club over the last 37 years and I’m excited to now be a part of the future.
“We have a fantastic infrastructure that Oli and the supporting staff team have built over the past 15 years and the future prospects are endless.
“I have a lot of happy memories from the old Woodspring Stadium and the current Optima Stadium.
“I’m thankful for this opportunity and I’m looking forward to the coming season.”
Oli Bliss, Managing Director at Weston-super-Mare AFC, said:
Pete has been involved for the past few years with the awards night and is someone that the Club has been very keen to get involved with, being such a well respected sportsman and a player for the Club around 20 years ago.
“Ed has been involved on the Match Day Operations supporting me and Niel for a long time now and was very interested to increase his role with the Club.
“I am looking forward to working with them both over the coming years.”
Everyone at Weston-super-Mare AFC wishes Ed and Pete all the best as they start their new roles with the Club.
