PHIL HUCKER APPOINTED CHIEF SCOUT

Weston-super-Mare AFC are pleased to announce the appointment of Phil Hucker as Chief Scout.

Phil re-joins the club after coaching the Seagulls Under-16s team last season. In the same season he also coached Cheddar FC Under 16s to a League and Cup double and was honoured with the award of Volunteer Coach of the year by the Somerset Football Association.

Seagulls Football Development Director Jon Haile told us “Phil will work very closely with myself and Ryan and will be responsible for ensuring that we are aware of all players from the South West that could potentially be a fit for Weston-super-Mare AFC.  He is vastly experienced and therefore ideal for this key position which will help us provide a balanced recruitment team that will work across all levels of football within the pyramid. It is extremely important to us to ensure that we sign the best young players in the South West to compliment what we will be producing ourselves.”

Hucker commented “I’m extremely excited to be re-joining Weston-super-Mare AFC. It is a club that is showing real ambition with its plans and I am proud to accept this position and become part of the exciting development plans here. It really is a club that is going places.”
