Lucas began his career at the North Somerset Regional Talent Centre, before moving onto the Cardiff City Academy as a youngster. He returned to the North Somerset Regional Talent Centre and stayed there for the remainder of his junior years.
At the age of 16, he moved onto Clevedon Town’s under-18 team for the 2016-2017 season, helping them to win the Roger Stone Memorial Cup in 2017 as well as doing the league and cup double a season later, scooping the Somerset Floodlight Youth League Premier Division and Roger Stone Memorial Cup. He managed to net 27 goals in 19 games for the Clevedon youngsters during his second season at under-18 level.
As well as scoring goals for the Clevedon under-18 side, he also got his chance with their first team in the Western League Premier Division, moving into their senior squad ahead of the 2017-2018 season. Across the next few seasons, he made 105 appearances and was an unused substitute three times, scoring 44 goals and assisting 20 for the Seasiders. Over his three seasons in the blue and white of the North Somerset club, he finished as top scorer in the 2017-2018, 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 seasons.
His goalscoring exploits saw Southern League Division One South side Bristol Manor Farm pick the youngster up in June 2020, and he went on to score seven goals as well as assist two during 10 games for Lee Lashenko’s team.
His form in the league below led to the Seagulls signing the Weston lad in November 2020.
