Jones began his youth career with Reading, leaving the Royals at the age of 10.
He spent a year out of the game before joining hometown club Swindon Town at the age of 11, progressing through the academy ranks to begin a two-year scholarship in 2012.
He got his first taste of senior football when joining Southern League South & West club Swindon Supermarine on loan for the rest of the season in March 2014, assisting three goals in eight appearances while being an unused substitute four times. He was recalled from his loan early for involvement in Swindon’s first team.
He penned his first professional contract with Swindon in April 2014 before joining Southern League South & West side Wantage Town on loan for a month in August 2014. He scored three goals and assisted once in eight games.
Jones moved to Southern League Premier side Chippenham Town on a month-long loan in September 2014, making two appearances for the Bluebirds and being an unused substitute once.
He got his first taste of National League South football when joining Farnborough on loan for a month in December 2014, which was later extended for another month. He made eight appearances and was an unused substitute twice for the club.
The youngster was released by Swindon in the summer of 2015, having made one appearance and been an unused substitute eight times during his time with his hometown club.
He spent part of the 2015 pre-season on trial with Bath City before joining Chippenham Town in the Southern League Premier during the month of July 2015. He played a crucial part for the club as they won the Southern League Premier title in 2017, before being released at the end of that season. He made 81 appearances and was an unused substitute 22 times, scoring seven goals and assisting 26.
He signed for Hellenic League Premier Division side Royal Wootton Basset Town in August 2017, scoring one goal in two appearances across the season.
Jones also signed for Southern League Division One West side Cirencester Town in the same month, appearing 16 times and assisting six goals.
His form for the Centurions saw him be snapped up by Southern League Premier Division side Farnborough in November 2017, assisting five goals in 20 games.
He linked up with National League South side Hungerford Town in the summer of 2018 and became a pivotal part of Ian Herring’s team at Bulpit Lane, making 68 appearances and being an unused substitute nine times. He scored six and assisted seven while on the books of the Crusaders.
Jones then linked up with the Seagulls in May 2020.
