PREVIEW AND MATCH INFO: SEAGULLS VISIT THE MAGPIES
Tomorrow afternoon, the Seagulls head south to take on Dorchester Town in their PitchingIn Southern League Premier South opener.
Weston go into the game with good momentum having gone unbeaten in their last six pre-season games before competitive fixtures.
Dorchester have won three, drawn one and lost four of their pre-season friendlies, scoring 14 goals and conceding 13 along the way. Leigh Robinson begins his first full season in charge of the Magpies having taken over during last season and has former Seagull Charlie Madden available within his squad.
Last time these sides met was a 2-1 win for Weston at The Avenue back in February, coincidentally the last league fixture the Seagulls played before football came to a stop. Chris Knowles and Mike Symons were on the scoresheet for the visitors while Tom Bath netted for the hosts.
On the game, Manager Scott Bartlett said:
It’s going to be a very tough game.
“They did well in the week against Yeovil and we are fully respectful of the opposition.
“The players are focused, we are as well prepared as we can be and are looking forward to it.”
