PREVIEW AND MATCH INFO: WESTON WELCOME BRISTOL CITY XI

We are delighted to welcome both supporters and Bristol City XI to The Optima Stadium on Wednesday 26th August, 7:30 PM KO.

Social distancing guidelines must be adhered to at all times whilst inside The Optima Stadium.

Last time the Seagulls hosted the Robins, an eighty-seventh-minute penalty from Owen Howe finished an exciting seven-goal match – completing the 2019/20 pre-season friendlies. Despite the last two goals of the game coming from Weston, a hat-trick from City’s Semenyo on top of an early opener, saw the Seagulls lose 3-4.

Bristol City XI will once again make the half an hour journey, as Weston play their first match this season in front of home fans.

After only one loss, Weston are hoping to continue their winning ways during pre-season on the back of a 2-1 victory away to Slimbridge on Monday evening. The Seagulls have scored 15 goals in five games – with four pre-season matches still to play in September.

PLEASE NOTE

There is no admission on the day, pre-purchased tickets only.

There will now be mandatory picture ID checks for all supporters when entering The Optima Stadium to confirm the ticket validity.

JustGiving donators that have notified the club should enter via players/official entrance with proof of donation and showing of ID.

Card is preferred but cash can be used at the kitchen and bar.

Access to the Somerset suite will be from inside the ground and limited to 50 people.

Unfortunately, the club shop and main bar will not be open.

Car parking will be free.

We will be asking supporters not to throw the match balls back onto the pitch. Stewards will collect them.

FIND THE OPTIMA
Leave the M5 at Junction 21 and take the A370 towards Weston town centre. Continue across three roundabouts and at the 4th (where there is a McDonalds) turn left into Winterstoke Road. Go straight across the mini roundabout, over a railway bridge and you will see the ground on your right hand side.

We have a fair sized car park at the stadium however there are a limited amount of match day parking for Blue Badge holders these spaces must be booked in advance. If you are travelling by coach/mini bus please contact ahead of time to enquire about reserving a space.
