SCOTT BARTLETT POST MATCH REACTION
Manager Scott Bartlett gives his reaction to the 2-1 defeat away at Hayes & Yeading United in the Southern League Premier Division South playoff semi-final.
Hi Scott. What’s your assessment of last night’s game?
“We are obviously disappointed, we started well and had some good chances but I think if I’m being honest, overall the best team on the night won the game.
“It’s always a tough game when we play Hayes, particularly away from home and their strengths just outweighed ours at key times in the game.
“Without being at our very best, we dug in, battled and had some good moments still and it could have been different at the end but it wasn’t to be.
“We wish them well and as disappointed as we are, it’s important always to focus on what we have done well. We have grown as a club this season, I don’t like losing but we will be back.”
How do you go forward between now and the start of pre-season?
“Our planning for next season is ongoing and has started some time ago, it’s a strength of ours that we are able to start our work early due to the stability of the club.
“The players, staff, board and supporters have been brilliant and I’ll take this opportunity to thank everyone for their efforts.”
