SEAGULLS BATTLE HAWKS IN LEAGUE OPENER
On Saturday at 3pm, the Seagulls will once again take to the pitch to play competitive football. It will be the first time since April as they bid to continue from where they left off last season against Whitehawk at The Woodspring Stadium.
Weston are boosted by the arrival of left-back Jordan Williams and striker Tom Meechan, with the club still waiting for former Bristol Rovers striker Eliot Richards to gain international clearance from Tampa Bay Rowdies in America
The Seagulls will also be bolstered by the signing of Jason Pope and Bristol City loanees, striker Shawn McCoulsky and central midfielder George Dowling.
Whitehawk have added to their side in recent days with former Ebbsfleet player Mike West signing on with The Hawks in addition to Brazillian-born Lucas Rodrigues signing on with his boyhood club after impressing in their U18 side last term.
In the head-to-head battles to date between the two sides, Weston have won 2, drawn 2 and lost 2, having last beaten Whitehawk on Halloween 2015 by 2-0 at The Enclosed Ground. In their last meeting, back in April, Whitehawk triumphed 2-1 at The Woodspring Stadium. The goal difference remains in Weston’s favour at +1, with the Seagulls having scored 7 goals and conceded 6 against Whitehawk.
