SEAGULLS CELEBRATE GRANT AWARD

We’ve been awarded a £500 grant by the Premier League, The FA and Government’s Football Foundation.

The £500 grant from the Foundation’s Club Preparation Fund has helped The Optima Stadium to safely reopen in line with Government guidance around hygiene and social distancing.

Plastic screens have been brought for the club bar, along with thermometers for the academy, ladies and 1st team, allowing them to return to training in a ‘COVID secure’ environment.

Hand sanitiser pumps have also been purchased and placed around the stadium.

The Club Preparation Fund follows the £7m of investment awarded to 2,900 organisations through last month’s Pitch Preparation Fund, also delivered by the Premier League, The FA and Government’s Football Foundation. This is enabling over 9,000 football pitches to be made match-fit, and is benefiting over 33,000 football teams.

Speaking about the funding success, Oli Bliss, Managing Director at the club, said:

“This support from the Premier League, The FA and Government’s Football Foundation is much appreciated in helping us to prepare for our full return to The Optima Stadium.”

The Football Foundation is a charity funded by the Premier League, The FA and the Government, through Sport England.
