SEAGULLS DO THEIR HOMEWORK AHEAD OF TRIP TO POOLE TOWN
Saturday sees Weston-super-Mare AFC make the trip to Dorset, and to Poole Town FC’s home, Tatnum Ground, as the Seagulls look to continue their superb form and dent Poole Town’s playoff hopes.
After last weekend’s disappointing postponement of the return leg of the Somerset Derby, Weston will be looking to get back to winning ways after beating Whitehawk 0-2 a fortnight ago. As it stands, Weston currently reside fourth in the league’s form table based on the last four games with nine points taken from the an available 12.
Poole Town FC are still going strong in their first season at this level and beat playoff candidates St. Albans on Tuesday night. With Craig Feeney having signed for the Dolphins from Winchester City in midweek, the Poole fans will be keeping a close eye on their new man, who has bagged 31 goals for Winchester this season, 19 of them coming in the league.
Last time these sides met was back in August when Poole travelled to the Woodspring Stadium to face an in-form Weston side, who dropped their first points of the campaign. Weston dominated the second half however none of their chances hit the back of the net, with Weston only inches from connecting with a loose ball with moments to go as the two sides played out an entertaining 0-0 draw.
