SEAGULLS HEAD TO RESURGENT ST ALBANS

On Easter Monday, Weston head to a St. Albans side that have seemingly halted their slide down the table, with the Seagulls now on the brink of survival, Monday’s game couldn’t come quick enough for a Weston side getting back to their best.

Weston have won their past two games against Bishops Stortford & Margate and haven’t tasted defeat since 25th March in a home loss to East Thurrock. Dayle Grubb has played a pivotal role in the last three displays, notching up six goals in his past three games to take his league tally to 19 for the season.

Ian Allinson’s side haven’t lost their last four games in the league and look to be aiming to get back to their best, instead of the shadow of the side that were struggling to win throughout the winter months. St.Albans last drew 1-1 away to Whitehawk thanks to a Zane Banton strike on Saturday.

Last time these sides met was on 29th August 2016 in a 0 – 3 win for St. Albans at the Woodspring Stadium, with Matt Ball scoring direct from a free-kick 27 yards out which arrowed into the top corner. Ball then proceeded to hammer home a half-volley inside the box before Louie Theophanous capped off a wonderful team move involving 11 passes from a Saints throw-in by sweeping in under Purnell from George Casey’s low cross.
