SEAGULLS HOST CHARD IN CUP ACTION
Tomorrow evening, Weston host Western League Division One side Chard Town in the Somerset Premier Cup quarter-final.
Being the reigning champions, Weston received a bye in the first round of the competition, but eased past Western League Premier Division side Hengrove Athletic in the previous round by a 0 – 4 scoreline. In that game, Eli Phipps and Tom Llewellyn both netted braces, so will be hoping to do the same against a side four leagues below them tomorrow.
Chard are currently sat fourth in the Western League Division One, and are some way off of breaking into the top two. To reach this stage of the competition, Chard beat Keynsham Town 2 – 0 with goals coming from Stephen Friend and Max Westlake, before beating Portishead on penalties following a 1 – 1 draw, the only goal for Chard coming from Friend in that game.
The game kicks off at 7:45pm at The Optima Stadium. Ticket prices are as follows: £8 adults, £5 concessions, £2 U16s, U8s go for free. A family ticket costs £14 (2 adults and 2 children).
