SEAGULLS HOST EAST THURROCK AT THE WOODSPRING
This Tuesday evening, the two sides at the bottom of the National League South do battle as Weston have a good opportunity to move off the foot of the table.
If Weston can win by two goals, then they’ll move off the bottom of the table on goals scored but if they win by three or more goals, then the Seagulls move off the foot of the table on goal difference. Marc McGregor’s squad will be boosted by the fact that Naby Diallo and Jacob Cane return from suspension, but after an impressive performance from Tom Llewellyn last time out, as well as Jake Lee and Alex Byrne putting in acceptable performances in the loss to Welling, Weston’s head coach has a selection headache on his mind.
East Thurrock are currently winless in their last four league games, and have only scored 12 goals in their 16 National League South games thus far. A 1 – 2 loss against Hemel Hempstead in their last game has left East Thurrock with 10 points from 48 points available so far, and manager John Coventry will be hoping to get the Rocks back on track soon. Weston will need to watch out for prolific goalscorer and visiting captain Sam Higgins, who has been hitting the back of the net for East Thurrock for the past nine years.
The last time Weston played East Thurrock, they played out an exciting 2 – 2 draw at the Woodspring Stadium. Early goals from Sam Higgins and Montel Agyemang put the visitors ahead, before Gethyn Hill flicked in a Danny Greenslade cross to pull one back. On the stroke of half-time, a deflected Greenslade cross fell to Kristian Scott, who stroked home from inside the box to level things up.
The game kicks off at 7:45pm at the Woodspring Stadium tomorrow evening (Tuesday 20th November). Ticket prices are as follows: £12 adults, £8 concessions, £3 U16s, U8s go free and £20 for a family ticket (2 adults and up to 2 children).
