SEAGULLS LOOK TO BOUNCE BACK AT CONCORD

Weston make the long journey to Concord Rangers this weekend as they look to bounce back to winning ways following last Saturday’s defeat at home.

Weston lost their last league game 0-2 to Welling at the Woodspring, two first-half goals proving the difference between the sides. Prior to that defeat, Weston were on a five-game unbeaten league run and will be looking to return to winning ways this weekend. Rob Boyd, assistant coach, looked ahead to the game, “We’re heading to Concord, looking to put in a performance that is worthy of bringing back a valuable three points. The whole squad have worked hard in this weeks training sessions and look good ahead of this weekends fixture. We were in good form prior to last weeks result and the whole team are hungry to return to that form.”

Concord haven’t won in the National League South since 19th August, with a 1-0 win over bottom-placed Whitehawk. The Beach Boys currently lie 21st in the table, on nine points with two wins and three draws, but their recent form looks to have gone against them early on.

Weston last travelled to Concord in January, in a 1 – 3 victory. Brad Ash, Jamie Chamberlain and Gethyn Hill were on the scoresheet for Weston, before veteran striker Steve Cawley pulled one back for the hosts.
