SEAGULLS ON THE ROAD AGAIN FOR FA CUP TIE AT BOGNOR REGIS
This weekend, Weston-super-Mare make the journey to Bognor Regis Town for the second time in two months as they look to advance in the FA Cup. The Second Qualifying Round sees the National League North & South sides enter the competition.
Going in to fixture Weston are unbeaten in their last three, with a win against Wealdstone and draws away against Chelmsford City and Oxford City, seeing their league form pick up.
Forward Irnti Rapai will be looking to maintain his good form, with two goals from his first two Weston appearances, and Dayle Grubb will also be hungry for more, already on eight competitive goals this season. There are seven spots available on the bench, with Giancarlo Gabbiadini hoping to be amongst the named matchday eighteen now his international clearance has been confirmed.
Bognor Regis haven’t won a league game since their win over Whitehawk, and come into the game having lost four out of their last six matches, the draws coming against Weston and Chelmsford.
Assistant Coach commented ahead of the game, “The squad are growing in confidence, they have played well over the past three games and have deserved more from them. This fixture will be a test and we will look to continue our league form and progress to the next round.”
The last time these two sides met was last month, at the same venue. Grubb fired the Seagulls ahead, before Aden Baldwin’s sending off saw the Seagulls down to ten men. Bognor captain Dan Beck then headed in the equaliser to share the spoils.
