SEAGULLS OUT FOR REVENGE IN SOMERSET DERBY
Weston’s first away game of the season is against rivals Bath City tonight at Twerton Park. Weston will be hungry to exact revenge after the last Derby at the Bath’s ground in March, when Bath loanee Tyler Harvey struck twice in injury time to consign the Seagulls to a last minute defeat.
With Weston on cloud nine after Saturday’s dismantling of playoff hopefuls Whitehawk, Ryan Northmore’s troops will feel that anything is possible come 7:45PM this evening.
Bath were unfortunate to go down to a well drilled Margate side on the opening day, losing 1-0 to a late Alex Osborn goal in the 87th minute. Bath will be looking to thatke the points as they did last Easter Monday and show that they aren’t a team who should be considered among the relegation pack this season.
Head coach Ryan Northmore stated “I thought we played very well on Saturday and deserved the victory and perhaps even a few more goals. I could see from the individual players Whitehawk have that they are packed with quality but we were excellent and managed the game very well, so they found it difficult to create the openings they wanted. The only negative was the injury to Jacob Cane. It’s being assessed and hopefully it won’t be too long before he is available for selection again. Tomorrow night should be an exciting game. Hopefully it will be a cool evening so the game can be played at a quicker place than Saturday. Both sides know each other well so its a slightly different situation to Saturday and we feel confident”.
