SEAGULLS TRAVEL TO HARTLEY WINTNEY IN RETURN TO LEAGUE ACTION
Weston are back in Southern League South action as they travel to Hartley Wintney on Saturday 4th December, 3pm kick off.
The Seagulls come into this game having been knocked out of the Southern League Challenge Cup by Taunton Town.
A Prince Henry goal wasn’t enough to stop Taunton running out 2-1 winners with the Peacocks’ goals coming from Jared Lewington and Nick Grimes.
Before this fixture, Weston got the better of Dorchester Town as a Scott Laird header gave Scott Bartlett’s side a 1-0 home victory.
About the season so far, Scott Laird said:
“It’s been a weird and wonderful season for us as a team. With a long lay off leading up to the start, it was always going to be tough physically playing Saturday-Tuesday and we had a small squad so sometimes we could only name 2/3 subs. We have come through that and have added real quality. We find ourselves in touching distance of the play offs and slightly under the radar so we will just carry on taking each game as it comes.
Personally I have loved every minute. I love football and I’m loving playing for this club. Of course it’s great to be scoring goals as it’s something I’ve tried to have in my game all through my career so I’m very happy to be contributing. But we have goals all over the pitch. A big month ahead.”
Most recently for The Row came a 2-0 home defeat to Folkestone in the FA Trophy. Their most recent league encounter was a home fixture against Yate Town that ended 2-2.
Hartley sit 19th in the league table and are currently just 2 points above the drop zone. The Seagulls lie 10th, just 3 points off the play off places.
