SEAGULLS TRAVEL TO HAYES IN PLAY OFF SEMI

The Seagulls are on the road as they travel to Hayes & Yeading to contest a one-legged play off semi final on Tuesday 26th April, 7:45pm kick off.

After the final day heroics at the Optima, Weston secured 5th place and a spot in the play-offs.

Despite Chesham’s comfortable win against Wimborne Town, the Seagulls completed a 2-1 win over Harrow Borough to get the all important three points.

Goals from Nick McCootie and Marlon Jackson were enough to send the 1,184 supporters at The Optima into delirium at the full time whistle as the play offs were confirmed.

Hayes & Yeading went into the final day of the season still with aspirations of the league title. They needed to beat Hartley Wintney and hope Taunton faltered. Neither of that happened however, as Hayes had to settle for a 2-2 draw while Taunton wrapped up the title with a 2-1 win.

The other semi final taking place is between Farnborough and Met Police. The winner of this tie will be waiting for the winner at the SkyEx on Monday 2nd May in the final. If Weston are to make it, the final will be played at the winner of that tie due to their superior league finish.

The last time Weston travelled to Hayes was a dramatic affair. After being 1-0 down at half time, the Seagulls rallied and a Jordan Bastin equaliser followed by an added time winner from Marlon Jackson gave Scott Bartlett’s side a vital win.

THE SKYEX COMMUNITY STADIUM

By Supporter’s Coach – To ensure as many supporters as possible can travel to our playoff semi-final fixture with Hayes & Yeading United, we’ve slightly amended our supporter’s coach departure times.

Coaches will be leaving the Optima Stadium at 3pm, with a final coach departing at 3:30pm.

We ask supporters to travel on the 3pm coaches if they can, freeing up space for supporters on the 3:30pm coach who can’t make the 3pm departure time.

By Car – Take Junction 3 (Heston, Hounslow, Southall & Hayes).
Head northbound towards Hayes along the A312 The Parkway (Hayes By-Pass).
Go over the first roundabout (Tesco’s is off to the right) and over the flyover.
Ignore the next junction signposted to Hayes and take the second signposted Hayes, Uxbridge & Southall.
At the end of the sliproad is the Ossie Garvin roundabout.
Take the third exit towards Southall.
Head eastbound along the (A4020) Uxbridge Road signposted to Southall.
Get into the far right hand lane as soon as you can to turn right into Springfield Road at the next set of traffic lights (There is a retail development with a Wickes on the corner of Springfield Road)
Follow the road, past ‘Goals’ on your right.
The road bears left into Beaconsfield Road, and about 100 yards on your right is the entrance to the ground.

By Public Transport – Hayes & Harlington Rail Station is 15 minutes from Paddington and easily reached from the West. From here it is best to take a 5-10 minute cab ride to the ground as it is a good 30 minutes plus walk, through Hayes Town up Coldharbour Lane and onto the Uxbridge Road where you can pick up directions above. There is a cab firm just by the station.

We do not suggest you try Southall station as the Beaconsfield Road you can see on most maps near Southall Station does not connect with the Beaconsfield Road the ground is on, it is divided by the canal.

Alternatively take the tube to Uxbridge Underground station (Metropolitan or Piccadilly lines) and at the bus station adjoining, hop on a bus towards Shepherd’s Bush and alight at Springfield Road. It is 7-8 minute walk to the ground from here.

Check up on the pre-match build up and keep up to date with all the action from the match with our live twitter updates – @WSM_AFCOfficial.

We hope to see as many Seagulls supporters at the SkyEx Community Stadium for the biggest game of this season so far.
