SEAGULLS TRAVEL TO MARGATE FOR AWAY DAY

On Saturday, Weston-super-Mare AFC will travel from coast-to-coast to take on Margate in the National League South, as Weston will look to add to Margate’s woes and keep their unbeaten run on the road this season intact.

With the unbeaten record having slipped away at home last Saturday in an unlucky game against Dartford, Weston will now look to pick themselves up and will surely be a team hungry to assert their dominance over another team once again this season.

Margate are a team suffering on and off the pitch. With the recent departure of their CEO Ryan Day, and with ‘The Gate’ currently sitting in the relegation zone with only 3 points from the first 5 games after a solitary opening day win over Bath City, Ryan Northmore will be fancying his chances ahead of Saturday’s game.

Weston and Margate have faced each other on two pervious occasions. Weston have won both times, with a record of 3 goals scored and none conceded, so with Margate at a low ebb after a poor start, the squad will be licking their lips with joy at the prospect of another three points on the road.

When asked about the game, Ryan Northmore, Head Coach, responded; “We are back on the road after a couple of home games and we need to pick up the slack. We have dropped five points at home so the pressure is now on to make that up on our away games. We have been forced to go up the day before because of the distance and it makes sense for the over night stay. We are facing our longest trip on a bank holiday weekend heading towards a traditional holiday spot during this time is not great but we are ready for the game and aside for Jacob Cane we have a full squad to choose from”.

Available Weston Squad: Barnes, Dowling, Fortune, Grubb, Ingram, Kington, Mawford, McClennan, McCoulsky, Meechan, Mullings, Pope, Powell, Purnell, Richards, Simpson, Williams, Wring.
