SEAGULLS WELCOME BILLERICAY TO THE WOODSPRING
In the first home game of 2019, Weston welcome Billericay Town to the seaside as one team looks to carry on from a New Years Day win and the other side hope to return to form.
The Seagulls find themselves back in reach of the sides above them in the relegation scrap, having beaten Gloucester City 1 – 3 on New Years Day. Skipper Jacob Cane will sit out of the clash with Billericay due to suspension having picked up two yellow cards in the 0 – 2 loss to Bath City last Saturday. Jason Pope could be set for a return to the pitch after picking up an injury last Saturday.
Billericay have recently suffered a dip in form, losing their past four league games which has seen them go from title contenders and slid all the way down to 7th, just about remaining in the Playoffs by a thread. Billericay striker Ross Lafayette sits out of tomorrow’s game with a suspension, while Connor Smith may be in line for his Billericay debut after signing permanently from National League side Boreham Wood.
Last time these sides met, Weston lost 4 – 2 at the New Lodge. Jake Robinson’s early goal gave the hosts a one-goal deficit at the interval, before Jake Howells doubled the side’s advantage in the second half with a neat finish. Moses Emmanuel poked in, before Cane curled in from 18 yards to pull one back for Weston. Jake Lee fired in from a corner for Weston, before the centre-back was sent off for a last man challenge, Robinson curling in from the free-kick to seal the win.
The game kicks off at 15:00 at the Woodspring Stadium. Ticket prices are as follows: £12 for adults, £8 concessions, £3 U16s, U8s go free. A family ticket (2 adults and up to 2 children) costs £20.
