SEAGULLS WELCOME THE PILGRIMS IN THEIR SECOND FRIENDLY

Saturday football returns to The Woodspring this weekend when Weston-super-Mare AFC welcome recently promoted League One outfit Plymouth Argyle for the second fixture of their pre-season schedule.

Following a positive display on Tuesday night against a strong Bristol Rovers, the Seagulls squad will be eager to impress the management and the fans once more, with their quick passing game already showing that it could cause teams problems, if utilised in the correct way.

Plymouth played their first friendly on Wednesday night, away to Buckland Athletic, so they too will be looking to hone their match sharpness levels, an advantage for Weston after playing Rovers who had already notched up three matches in their pre season schedule.

Ahead of the fixture head coach Marc McGregor commented, “We have another tough test ahead of us tomorrow. There are a few little niggling injuries in the squad, along with a little illness, but this could give a chance for other members of the squad to shine. We need to improve on our productivity in the final third, but I am confident this will come with the lads we have.”
