SHIRTGATE 2018 – THE RUNNER UP GETS A RECALL

Just when you thought it was all over…

Having started the process of launching the new kit it has now been established that we are unable to continue with the chosen shirt from the poll we ran over the recent Bank Holiday. This is because of the FIFA ruling of having the same colour baselayer as the sleeves of the shirt. We are unable to source a baselayer with opposing coloured sleeves.

The ruling is worded as follows:

Law 4 – Players’ Equipment
*A jersey or shirt – if undergarments are worn, the colour of the sleeve should be the same main colour as the sleeve of the jersey or shirt.

Rather than delay this process any longer we wanted to communicate to the fans, and to send our sincere apologies and tell you that as option 1 had the next highest votes (just 20 fewer than option 3) that this is the shirt that will now be worn as first kit next season.
