SOMERSET PREMIER CUP – SEAGULLS v SHEPTON MALLET AFC

The eagerly awaited Somerset Premier Cup match takes place on Tuesday 27th September KO 7.45pm. This is an all pay match but car parking will be free.

Shepton Mallett AFC have just parted company with Manager Rob Cousins so it will be interesting to see how their squad reacts to that news. In the interim period, Craig Loxton will oversee the next few games, but at the same time he wants to carry on playing and remain as club captain, but as a local player he would like to take the opportunity to see whether or not he can turn things around.

Caretaker Manager Jon Haile said, “When I was last First Team Coach, we won this trophy in both the seasons I was here. Clubs like Bath City, Yeovil Town and Weston-super-Mare AFC should always be in the Semi-Finals at least. Not through a divine right but because hard work, professional pride and quality of players should take us to this stage. We will take this competition seriously, starting from this evening.”
